fair questions. straight answers.

the waitlist.

how does the waitlist work?

joining is a reservation, not an order: your email, your dog's size, and (if you like) their name for the tin. no card details, nothing to pay, nothing to cancel. you get a numbered spot in the queue, and every friend who joins with your link moves you up 25 places. when we launch, the invitation email goes out in position order - and the waitlist is locked for the first 500 dogs.

the chew.

what exactly is in it, and how much?

every chew carries 300mg of green-lipped mussel, 150mg of marine omega-3 (epa + dha), 1bn cfu of a heat-stable probiotic and 250mg of glucosamine hcl - plus a yeast prebiotic (mos and beta-glucan, 110mg) and a vitamin and mineral premix.

amounts are per-chew target minimums. the label on your pouch is the definitive record - and any change goes in the mm1 changelog.

the full table - each ingredient, its dose and what it supports - is on the proof page. and note: it contains shellfish (green-lipped mussel) and fish (marine oil).

will my fussy dog actually eat it?

the honest answer: we don't know your dog. what we do know: it's a soft, cold-pressed chew built around green-lipped mussel and fish, and cold-pressing keeps the natural smell that draws dogs in. if yours still turns their nose up, you're covered by the fussy dog guarantee - tell us within 30 days of your first tub and we'll refund it in full.

where is it made?

in the uk, with a specialist manufacturer. the chew is cold-pressed at low temperatures - gentler than baking, which is how the probiotic arrives alive - and every batch is tested before it goes near a pouch. the full making-of, including what we test for, is on the proof page.

how do i store it, and how long does it keep?

cool, dry and out of direct sun - the tin on a counter or shelf is perfect. each pouch is sealed and printed with its best-before date, and one pouch holds a month of chews, so nothing sits around for long. keep it out of your dog's reach between servings: the chew lives in the cupboard, mabel would prefer it somewhere lower down, and the cupboard is currently winning.

what's the mm1 changelog?

mm1 is our formula's name - m for mabel, m for maggie. the changelog is its public record: if the formula ever changes - doses, sources, anything - the change is dated and logged before it reaches your pouch. read it on the proof page.

feeding & suitability.

what are the sizes and doses?
  • small (under 10kg) - 1 chew a day - £28 a month (93p a day)
  • medium (10-25kg) - 2 chews a day - £35 a month (£1.17 a day)
  • large (over 25kg) - 3 chews a day - £42 a month (£1.40 a day)

every chew is the same - bigger dogs simply have more of them, and the dose table is printed on every pouch.

the waitlist takes 20% off: a month ( a day) for small, a month ( a day) for medium, a month ( a day) for large.

from what age can my dog have it?

from 12 months. before that, a good complete puppy food already covers what a growing dog needs - come back to us once they're grown.

do i give it with food or as a treat?

either. give it with food or as a treat - whichever your dog prefers. the same time each day helps it become the routine, and that daily routine is the whole point.

what if my dog is between sizes?

pick by weight band, not breed: under 10kg is small, 10-25kg is medium, over 25kg is large. weigh your dog and use the band they're in today. genuinely on the line? contact us and we'll help you choose.

is it safe alongside my dog's food or medication?

one good chew is a complementary pet food, designed to sit alongside your dog's normal complete food. it supports normal function - it isn't a medicine and it doesn't replace one. if your dog takes medication, is pregnant or nursing, or has a health condition, have a chat with your vet before adding anything new, including ours.

what about allergens?

it contains shellfish (green-lipped mussel) and fish (marine oil) - the shellfish is green-lipped mussel, and the fish comes with the marine omega-3. if your dog reacts to either, this isn't the chew for them - we'd rather say that plainly. the full ingredient list is on the proof page and on every pouch.

when will i see a difference?

honestly: not overnight, and not the same for every dog. support for normal digestion tends to settle first, often in the first couple of weeks. a shinier coat usually follows within the month. support for normal joint function is the slow one - owners tend to notice around weeks six to eight. and some dogs show little you can see, even when the routine is perfect - that's exactly what the fussy dog guarantee is for.

subscription & delivery.

can i stop whenever i want?

yes. pause, skip or cancel anytime from your account. no minimum term. no cancellation phone call. cancelling is a couple of taps and a single confirm screen - we may ask once whether you'd rather pause, and then it's done.

what happens when i pause?

pausing is self-serve from your account: choose 1, 2 or 3 months, and we show you the exact resume date before you confirm. nothing is charged while you're paused, and deliveries start again automatically - or you can restart early whenever you like. skipping a single delivery works the same way.

how does delivery work?

your first order arrives as a small parcel: the keepsake tin (yours to keep), your first pouch, and a letter. after that, only pouches travel - refills land every month by royal mail large letter, sized to fit through a standard uk letterbox, so nobody has to wait in for the postman.

why is it £28-£42 a month?

because it's built to replace a shelf, not join one. per day that's 93p to £1.40 depending on your dog's size - and the usual run of separate joint, omega-3, probiotic and skin supplements at proper doses costs comfortably more. we've laid it out side by side - see the maths. you're paying for working ingredients at the doses on the label, not filler.

the boring-but-important bit.

how does the fussy dog guarantee work, step by step?
  • start the first tub and give it a fair go with your dog.
  • if they won't eat it, or it doesn't suit them, email hello@onegoodchew.com within 30 days of your first tub arriving.
  • we refund it in full. nothing gets posted back, and there are no forms designed to make you give up.

one guarantee per dog - fair's fair. the full terms are in the refund policy.

is it a medicine?

no. one good chew is a complementary pet food for dogs. it's made to support normal function - joints, coat, digestion and the immune system - in dogs that are well. it does not treat, prevent or cure disease, and it's not a substitute for veterinary care. if something is worrying you about your dog, your vet is always the first call.

still wondering? email us at hello@onegoodchew.com - a human reads it.
